Is the taper sell off in gold misguided

On reflection, I suppose it had to happen. Once gold failed to build on the summer’s rally and the 50MA crossed back through the 100MA at $1,322/oz a month or so ago, a retest of the summer’s lows had to be on the cards. The latest move to the downside has been driven by the market’s response to the taper, but is this weakness in the precious metal a buying opportunity?
